Sealcoating Marrero

We cross the river for Marrero work regularly, sealing residential driveways and business pavement on the West Bank. The approach does not change with the address: inspect the asphalt, repair what needs it, then coat.

Sealcoating Marrero pavement that holds water

Drainage decides how long a seal coat lasts on this side of the river. Where water sits on asphalt instead of running off it, the binder breaks down faster and the coating goes with it. Part of our inspection is watching where the pavement falls, and if a low area is holding water we tell you, because sealing a puddle is money spent on a surface that will fail there again.

What gets done, in order

A Marrero sealcoating job, step by step

Work on the West Bank follows four stages, and drainage gets checked before any of them. Here is what each stage covers on a Marrero property.

Walk and measure

We take the dimensions and note cracking, raveling, ponding, and edge damage. Nothing is priced from a satellite image.

Clear the surface

Debris, silt, and growth along the perimeter are removed so the coating meets clean asphalt rather than sitting on top of loose material.

Fill the cracks

Open cracks are cleaned out and sealed before coating begins. This is the step that decides whether the finish still looks right next year.

Coat and protect

Material goes down at spec, adjacent concrete is masked, and the area is barricaded until it has cured enough to carry traffic.

Prep is most of the job

Why we spend the time before the sealer comes out

A sealcoat is only as good as the surface under it, so the hours go into preparation rather than application. Cleaning, edging, crack work, and masking take longer than coating does, and that ratio is deliberate. When a seal job peels or shows cracks within a season, the cause is almost always something skipped before the first coat.

Measured, then quoted

How Much Does Sealcoating Cost in Marrero?

We hold to the figures published for our New Orleans work: about $300 to $900 for many residential driveways, with larger commercial areas typically between $1,500 and $6,000+ based on square footage and access. What moves a Marrero property within that span is pavement condition, how much crack filling is involved, oil spotting, edge detail, and the cleaning the surface needs. You get the firm number in writing after we have measured.

What owners want to know

Marrero sealcoating questions

Marrero owners often want to know whether their pavement is still worth sealing at all. That question and several others are answered below.

Is my driveway too far gone to seal?

Possibly, and that is worth knowing before you spend. Widespread alligator cracking or asphalt that moves underfoot is a structural problem, and a coating will not hold it together. We say which category your pavement is in.

How long does the work take?

A typical residential driveway is a single day of work plus cure time. Commercial pavement depends on area and how many phases the access plan needs, and we give you that schedule up front.

Will the new surface be slippery?

No. Properly applied sealer with the correct aggregate loading has a texture close to the asphalt it covers. A slick finish usually means the material went on too heavy.

Do you handle the striping afterward?

Yes. Lot markings are repainted once the coating has cured, and we can restore the existing layout or lay out a new one.

What if standing water is the real problem?

Then coating alone is the wrong answer, and we will tell you so. Drainage issues need a grading or repair conversation first, otherwise the same square footage fails again.
